Hi, I’m Anthony
North Wales
family photographer.
I'm a photographer based in North Wales, and for me photography has always been about noticing the moments that would otherwise pass you by.
I'm much more interested in real expressions, genuine interactions and the little things happening in between than trying to make everything look perfectly posed.
How I got here
Curiosity became
something personal.
I bought my first DSLR in 2018 and soon took it everywhere, from Chester Zoo to walks around North Wales. Photographing my cousin’s wedding showed me how much an image could mean to somebody else.
Becoming a dad made that feeling more personal. The small moments change quickly, and I wanted to preserve them. That is what led me to build OB Photography.
Today, I bring that same curiosity to your family, wedding or occasion: noticing real expressions and the little things you will want to remember.
Your time with me
Room to be yourselves.
We start with a conversation about your people, your preferred location and what matters to you. During the session, I offer gentle guidance so you do not have to work out where to stand or what to do.
There is room for a walk, a laugh and the quieter moments in between. Children can be children, and you do not need to arrive feeling confident in front of a camera.
I’ve also photographed the Hwb Hafan and Angelman UK community, bringing the same patient, relaxed approach to portraits, play and time together. See a selection from these shoots.
Afterwards, your individually edited photographs arrive in a private online gallery, ready to download and enjoy.
Beyond the camera
A little more human.
I'm a dad, a bit of a gear nerd, a motorcyclist and somebody who has recently developed a habit of finding DIY projects that inevitably require buying another tool.
I'm happiest when I'm actually doing something. Give me somewhere to explore with a camera, a day out with my family, a motorcycle ride or something to build and I'm pretty content.
I also genuinely enjoy the technical side of photography. I'll happily spend hours figuring out a new technique, experimenting with lighting or trying to work out why a photograph isn't quite working.
But when I'm photographing other people, I don't want that technical stuff getting in the way.
You don't need to understand cameras, know how to pose or turn up knowing exactly what to do.That's my job.
Do you travel for photoshoots?
Yes. I’m based in Penygroes and photograph sessions across North Wales. Travel within 20 miles of Penygroes is included. Beyond that, travel is charged at 75p per mile for each mile beyond the 20-mile allowance, in both directions. A 25-mile one-way journey adds £7.50.
Any additional travel cost is confirmed before you book. If you have somewhere further afield in mind, just ask.
What should we wear for our session?
The most important thing is to wear something you feel comfortable and confident in. You don't need to perfectly match everyone. Colours and outfits that complement each other usually look much more natural.
Neutral and earthy tones tend to photograph beautifully, but there's no strict dress code. I'd recommend avoiding large logos, very busy patterns or anything you wouldn't normally feel like yourself wearing.
If you're unsure, you're always welcome to send me a few outfit ideas before the session and I'll happily help you choose.
How long does it take to get our photos?
Everyday selection galleries arrive within two weeks of your session; your finished photographs are delivered within 7 days of receiving your selection. Full Story galleries arrive within two weeks, event galleries within three weeks and wedding galleries within six weeks.
Each photograph is individually edited and delivered through your private online gallery.
Do you offer albums or prints?
Yes. Your photographs don't have to live permanently on your phone or computer! Prints and other physical products can be ordered through your online gallery, making it easy to turn your favourites into something you can actually display and enjoy.
